Become a Coach
Do you eat, breathe and dream sports? Have a passion for working with children? Then become a sports coach at FunFit NYC. We’re on the constant look-out for talented coaches to lead our sports programs for children ages 16 months - 12 years of age.
Depending on experience, the person in this role will be responsible for providing, or helping to provide, a safe and fun sporting experience for an assigned group of young athletes. Activities may include private and group classes, children’s parties, camps and clinics. Coaches should be able to teach specific sport skills and overall sportsmanship.
To ensure our coaches are thoroughly trained, FunFit has developed a certification system. Coaches progress through several levels of professional development, which is signified by the color they wear during class (gray = assistant coach, green = mentor coach, red = lead coach, blue = master coach).

Coach Certification Course
To ensure our coaches are thoroughly trained we have developed a certification system. Coaches progress through several levels of professional development, which is signified by the color they wear during classes.
ASSISTANT COACH
These are typically newer coaches that must complete a 10-class shadow and training program with the support of a Mentor coach. They are required to complete introductory workshops in FunFit methodology, policies, procedures and program delivery.
LEAD COACH
These are coaches that can lead a program on their own or with another FuFit coach. They have all the tools to perform all the stages of our multi-sport programming. They also have a full understanding of FunFit methodology, policies, procedures and program delivery. They are required to complete a workshop on camps, clinics and advanced classes.
MASTER COACH
Master coaches are extremely rehearsed in the FunFit methodology, policies, procedures and program delivery. Besides being experienced in our multi-sport program all Master coaches have a full grasp of our specialty programs. They also lead training workshops in all aspects of our program.
Coaches at this level are usually more experienced and have a firm grasp of all the Funfit program in its entirety. They can also train new coaches as our team grows. Mentor coaches are responsible for creating workshops and working with parents to better the program.
